The Income Tax Department slueths conducted a raid on North East Road Transport Corporation (NERTC) chairman and Congress leader Iliyas Bhagwan Seth in the city on Wednesday.

A team of 12 officials, which arrived from Belagavi, searched his residence from morning hours. They also raided on a cold storage unit and a warehouse belonging to him. Iliyas was at his residence during the raid.

The officials did not divulge any information on the raid. A source in Raghavendra Nagar police station said the Income Tax Department officials had called and requested them to send three policemen around 11.30 am.
