Guv calls upon student community to innovate

Governor Keshari Nath Tripathy today called upon the student community to innovate and implement taking advantage of the present academic scenario of the country.

"is now going through a new phase and capturing world attention and respect. This was unthinkable in the last century. You must innovate, create, implement, accomplish, and forge ahead in the present academic environment in the country," Tripathy said addressing the first Convocation of the University of Engineering and Management here.


"The future of is in your hands. As the youth force of the country, each of you should mark an incremental step in making a vibrant democracy with minimal social, cultural and economic imbalances," Tripathy said.

The Governor observed, the students of top class institutions like UEM were among the few fortunate persons who had "access to educational experience at this renowned institution. This experience will reward you throughout your life."

Tripathy also called upon the Faculty of teachers in such institutes to initiate consolidated research projects that can be pertinent to the multifarious needs of West Bengal, "so that one can have scientific and rational rather than ad-hoc solutions for problems in many sectors that continue to plague the state and the nation at large".

The Convocation was also attended by former Chhatisgarh Governor Sekhar Dutt among others.
