SRINAGAR: Alert police guards of J&K police foiled an attempt by militants to loot weapons from a minority post in south Kashmir district of Shopian tonight.
The attempt to loot weapons comes hours after police personnel guarding Police Station Shopian had a narrow escape as a grenade hurled by militants at them failed to explode.
Official sources told reporters that militants attacked a minority police post in Panzer village in Shopian tonight. However, they said the police guards retaliated following which the militants fled the spot under the cover of darkness.
They said militants had attacked the police post to loot weapons. (AGENCIES)
