DDC holds meeting with border residents at Minka

RAJOURI: District Development Commissioner, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today held a meeting with border residents at Minka in Sunderbani which is last inhabited village along the Line of Control (LoC).

A number of representatives and residents from Minka, Kangri, Tala, Ambkhori and other Panchayats presented public demands and issues including upgradation of transformer at Minka, completion of Beripattan canal, requirement of foot bridge at Parla Minka, fencing of Mahadev Mandir, Relief for victims of Cross-LoC shelling, requirement of staff in schools, creation of 3 revenue villages in Kangri, maintenance of PMGSY roads and other developmental demands.

They appreciated the tremendous efforts put in by district administration for organising camps in villages for providing important certificates and services.

Col. Abhishek Mukherjee organised the arrangements for public interaction. The meeting was convened at the last army camp near LoC where representatives of various villages gathered.

DDC informed the people about status of bunkers being constructed, identification of land, proposal for relief compensation and other measures taken by State Government.

He also informed them about libraries and skill development centres being opened in border areas by district administration for youth.
