Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary today assumed charge as minister of state in the Ministry of Mines and discussed with officials issues pertaining to the sector.
"The Secretary Mines, Arun Kumar, along with senior officers of the mines ministrywelcomed the newly appointed Minister of State in the Ministry of Mines and Ministry of Coal, Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary,in his office in Shastri Bhawan," the mines ministry said in a statement.
After taking charge, Chaudhary held meeting with senior officials of the ministry and discussed the progress in the ministry, it further said.
Earlier, Chaudhary was Minister of State in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Ministry and he has also served as Minister of State in Ministry of Home Affairs.
He represents the Banaskantha constituency of Gujarat and is a four-time member of the Lok Sabha from BJP.
