The U.S. Mission in India on Wednesday has condemned the killing of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh.
“The U.S. Mission in India joins advocates of press freedom in India and worldwide in condemning the murder of respected journalist Gauri Lankesh in Bengaluru. We offer our sincere condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Ms. Lankesh,” a statement read.
Lankesh was shot dead at her house in Rajarajeshwari Nagar in Bengaluru late on September 5. Her body was found on the verandah of her house with three bullet injuries.
