Nepal's Foreign Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara will embark on a six-day visit to China tomorrow during which he will hold talks with his Chinese counterpart besides meeting senior leaders of the country.
Mahara, who is also the deputy prime minister, is visiting China on the invitation of his counterpart Wang Yi.
During the visit, Mahara will hold delegation-level talks with Wang in Beijing. Mahara is also scheduled to meet other senior Chinese leaders and speak at the China Foreign Affairs University.
Nepal in May inked a deal with China to join Chinese President Xi Jinping's ambitious 'One Belt One Road' (OBOR) initiative to link Asia with Europe.
Mahara is likely to discuss the OBOR project with Chinese leaders.
He will also inaugurate the newly established Consulate General of Nepal in Guangzhou on September 10. He will also address the business community and meet the provincial leaders in Guangzhou.
Mahara will also visit the Hebei province and meet local leaders, before wrapping up his visit and return to home on September 11.
His delegation comprises Ambassador of Nepal to China Lila Mani Poudyal and senior officials from both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, according to a foreign ministry statement here.
