BJP activists welcome new UP unit chief in Lucknow

Hundreds of (BJP) workers on Monday welcomed Nath Pandey on his maiden visit to the capital after his appointment as the party's state unit President.

workers thronged the Chowdhary Charan Singh airport here, showered flower petals on Pandey and raised slogans hailing him.

At the state headquarters on the Vidhan Sabha Marg, Pandey was received by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, his deputy and outgoing state President Keshav Prasad Maurya, another Deputy Chief Minister, Dinesh Sharma, and senior leaders.

Pandey is currently a Lok Sabha member from Chandauli and was Union Minister of State before he was appointed the President. He has held important portfolios in the state ministry when Kalyan Singh and Ram Prakash Gupta were the Chief Ministers.
