Government school in Manaveli gets a smart classroom

‘Move will enhance the teaching and learning experience’

A hi-tech smart classroom with a touch screen digital board, computer and printer was inaugurated by Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy at the Thanthai Periyar Government Higher Secondary School in Manaveli near here on Friday.

The smart class had been established at an expenditure of ₹1.50 lakh by the Pondicherry Heritage Round Table 167 in the school which is the alma mater of Mr. Narayanasamy.

The smart class would improve the learning skills of students from class I to XII.

The idea is to enhance the teaching and learning experience through audio, video, graphics and pictures, N. Venkataramani, Vice-Chairman, Area 2 Roundtable India said.

The school has an internet connection to enable live video streaming and use of online resources. Teachers in the school will be making use of the syllabus-based module prepared by HCL, he said. A. Ganapathy, Chairman of Pondicherry Heritage Round Table 167, was present.
