MCX, the country's leading commodity exchange, today said trading was halted at its platform for a brief period in the evening due to a technical glitch.
"MCX observed a problem with its trading system around 6:36 pm today. After assessing all the hardware, software and network aspects, it was decided to restart the trading system," it said in a regulatory filing.
The company said members were then allowed to re-login at 7:15 pm.
"Between 7:25 to 7:35 pm, members were allowed to cancel their pending orders in the system, in a special session. Thereafter live/normal trading resumed at 7:36 pm," it added.
Further, MCX said the matter is being examined for identifying the root cause which led to the issue.
