Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi and Chief Minister V Narayanasamy extended their greetings to the people of the Union Territory on the occasion Onam festival today.
In her message, Bedi said Onam was being celebrated as the most significant festival of Kerala cutting across religion, caste and other social divisions in a spirit of harmony and job.
It was also celebrated to mark the harvest and "brings memories of a past golden era reassuring peace and prosperity," she added.
Narayanasamy, his ministerial colleagues A Namassivayam and M Kandasamy and leaders of various political parties were among those who extended their Onam greetings.
