Springing yet another surprise, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today made former Commerce Minister of State Nirmala Sitharaman the new Defence Minister of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today elevated the best performing ministers -Dharmendra Pradhan, Piyush Goyal, Nirmala Sitharaman, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi- to Cabinet rank. But, Siharaman was the one who got the biggest promotion.
The Prime Minister has also inducted nine-other new faces to his council of ministers. People who have joined the ministry as Minister of India are Shiv Pratap Shukla, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Dr Virendra Kumar Singh, Anant Kumar Hegde, Raj Kumar Singh, Hardeep Singh Puri, Gajendra Singh Shekhwat, Dr Satyapal Singh and Alphons Kannanthanam.
