Big surprise! Nirmala Sitharaman as Defence Minister; Here's complete list of PM Modi's new cabinet, ministers

Springing yet another surprise, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today made former Commerce Minister of State Nirmala Sitharaman the new Defence Minister of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today elevated the best performing ministers -Dharmendra Pradhan, Piyush Goyal, Nirmala Sitharaman, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi- to Cabinet rank. But, Siharaman was the one who got the biggest promotion.  

The Prime Minister has also inducted nine-other new faces to his council of ministers. People who have joined the ministry as  Minister of India are Shiv Pratap Shukla, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Dr Virendra Kumar Singh, Anant Kumar Hegde, Raj Kumar Singh, Hardeep Singh Puri, Gajendra Singh Shekhwat, Dr Satyapal Singh and Alphons Kannanthanam.

Ministries have been allocated to new inductees. Here's a list of new Cabinet Ministers and Minister of State.

Shiv Pratap Shukla: Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance.

Ashwini Kumar Choubey: Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Dr Virendra Kumar Singh: Minister of State for Women and Child Development and for Minority Affairs.

Anant Kumar Hegde: Minister of State in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Gajendra Singh Shekhwat: Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

Dr Satyapal Singh: Minister of State For Human Resource Development and for Water Resources. Minister of State For River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
