During his hey days, Jude Felix used to torment his opponents on the hockey field. Gliding past his marker, confusing the defence with his smart stick work and setting up forwards with juicy opportunities were some of the skills that the former India captain had mastered like none other.
But, on Sunday, years after his retirement from competitive hockey, Felix was once again seen doing the same, but this time on a different pitch. Felix was seen leading the midfield for Konkan FC in the BFDA ‘C’ Division football league at the Bangalore Football stadium against Crescent FC.
Felix did not just make up the number for a team that has registered as many as 13 former hockey players, including former India internationals Anup Anthony and Bharat Chettri, but also played an important role in his side’s 4-1 win.
While Noel Robinson (15th, 22nd minutes) and VS Vinaya (12th, 43rd minutes) scored for the Konkan side, Felix flexed his muscles by setting up the play for his team-mates.
