Govt committed to equitable  development of all regions: Lal Singh

KATHUA, Sept 3: Minister for Forests, Environment & Ecology Lal Singh today convened a Public Grievances Redressal Camp at Kathua to take stock of public issues and assessing the status of development works being executed in the area.
The people from various parts of the district participated in the camp and apprised the Minister of their issues regarding welfare and development of their respective areas.
The Minister assured them that all their issues would be taken up with the concerned authorities for their early redressal.
Spelling out Government initiatives of equitable development of all parts of the State, the Minister said that the PDP-BJP alliance is working on an agenda of providing equal opportunities of growth and development to everyone which is being implemented with full dedication and sincerity. He appealed the people to extend cooperation to the executing agencies in effective implementation of welfare and development programmes envisaging for their socio-economic empowerment.
Lal Singh said Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Fisheries and Dairy have immense scope and by opting mix farming, the farmers can earn more. He said youth must come forward to avail skill development programmes undertaken by several Government departments and agencies like JKEDI, DUDA, DRDA etc to become self reliant.
The Minister also appealed people to uproot the menace of open defecation to support Swachh Bharat Mission. He directed Rural Development Department to work vigorously on educating people to construct toilet units in every single households for which Government is providing funds.
Ch Lal Singh called for identification of people to be covered under Prime Minister Awaas Yojna. He also directed authorities to take due care while making APL/ BPL list so that error free data can be utilized while planning development projects. He also appealed people to give exact and factual data to the officers so that proper planning and its execution can be ensured.
Taking strong note of pending liabilities under MGNREGA, the Minister directed ACD to look into the issue and initiate action for disposal of pendency.
