The need for vision for total tax compliance was highlighted by G.R. Swaminathan, Judge, Madras High Court, on Friday.
Inaugurating the sub-regional conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India here, Mr. Swaminathan spoke on the importance of the role played by chartered accountants in nation building.
Those who addressed the conference included S. Rengarajan, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, and Cotha S. Srinivas, Chairman, Southern India Regional Council of ICAI.
Lectures on various topics on income tax were delivered at the event.
Girish Ahuja spoke on the important amendments to income tax and benami transactions.
S. Muralidharan spoke on issues under income tax and Firoze B. Andhyarujina on evidentiary values under income tax.
