The Telugu Desam Party Telangana State unit has decided to take legal recourse against the State government’s decision to conduct land survey afresh.
A party delegation led by senior leader R. Prakash Reddy was in touch with the legal experts, TDP-TS working president A. Revanth Reddy said.
Terming the government’s latest decision as yet another drama to hoodwink the people, Mr. Revanth Reddy said it had become a habit for Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to create confusion among people with new announcements whenever the government apprehended opposition from the people after its alleged irregularities were exposed.
The new announcement comes in the backdrop of the piquant situation in which the government found itself after the land irregularities in Miyapur, exposure of sale and consumption of narcotics and the police excesses at Nerella in Sircilla-Rajanna district. Substantiating his charges, Mr. Revanth Reddy recalled that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao government had conducted comprehensive family survey in 2014. wherein the government obtained details of all the families residing across the State.
The survey envisaged collection of minute details including that of land/houses in the name of families. “Why is that information not being used now? Where is the need for a new survey?” he asked. He said the government’s exercise was aimed at manipulating land records to ensure that people close to Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao’s family were benefited by it.
Revenue machinery
The farmers’ coordination committees proposed by the government was nothing but providing political employment to TRS cadre and leaders and these people were bound to indulge in irregularities of huge magnitude. “There is every scope for manipulating the revenue records in the names recommended by these coordination committees. The government is trying to dilute the revenue administration and machinery for political and personal gains,” he alleged.
