Man burnt alive in car

A 38-year-old man who was going to be engaged to a Belagavi girl was burnt alive at Halagondanahalli in Turuvekere taluk of Tumakuru district on Saturday. The police said that he has been identified as Hamsa Kumar (38) of Halagondanahalli.

He had left the house on Friday at 10 p.m. after having dinner in his Maruti Zen car but did not return till 1 a.m. on Sunday. His family members found the car burning in the early hours of Sunday. The police suspect that he might have been locked in the car and the vehicle then set on fire. His family members alleged that it is a case of murder.

A case has been registered in Dandinashivara police station.
