Mumbai: With Mumbai University missing yet another deadline for announcing the final year results, Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray said on Friday that the student organisations themselves are now embarrassed to protest against MU’s incompetence. He also demanded free and fair inquiry in the matter.
“De-Resultisation because digitisation has yielded no result, only trouble. It's embarrassing to even protest at MU abt their incompetence,” tweeted Mr. Thackeray.
The young leader chose to target state Education Minister Vinod Tawde without naming him. “Lost papers, unmatched bar codes of supplements by same student, delayed results. Everyone feels the shame apart from the Cabinet Minister,” he added.
“There has to be a free and fair inquiry into this tender process and failure of the Uni, without keeping the clean chit at hand. Digitisation will only be helpful if we equip our systems that way. Only a random use of computer, complicating process isn't digitisation,” he said slamming the process of online paper checking introduced by the then Vice-Chancellor Sanjay Deshmukh.
Mr. Deshmukh is reported to have launched the online paper checking process in haste and without examining the compatibility.
All student organisations have been complaining and protesting against the university administration for the continued delay in the final year results.
Numerous meetings have been held with the Governor, who is also chancellor of the university, Chief Minister and Education Minister over the issue, but repeated promises have not yielded any results.
The government till now has missed six deadlines for announcing the results.
