Foundation stone for SunTec Business Solutions laid at Technocity

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that there is no question of the government allowing development projects to get derailed on account of protests or high-handed behaviour of loaders.

Laying the foundation stone for the Technocity campus of SunTec Business Solutions, one of the first indigenously set up IT solutions providers in the State, here on Friday, Mr. Vijayan said those who tried to put the spanner in the works when development projects were implemented would be sternly dealt with. The State needed development and there could be no compromise on that score, he said.

The Chief Minister appreciated the SunTec management’s decision to set up its second campus in the capital at the upcoming Technocity and promised all support from the government for the project, capable of accommodating 1,500 software professionals and which was expected to be commissioned in 18 months.

The decision of the SunTec management implied that the they were committed to making more investment in the State, he noted.

‘Dream project’

Chairing the meeting, SunTec founder-CEO K. Nandakumar said the new campus was one of the company’s dream projects. It was set to be one of the greenest and most environment-friendly campuses in Kerala and his goal was to make it the first campus in the State to have the prestigious Platinum Green Mark certification from the Singapore Building Authority. “We have designed the campus in such a way that it incorporates the natural flora and environment of the region and helps us to foster creativity and innovation in our work,” he said.

A. Sampath, MP, district panchayat president M. Madhu, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) P.H. Kurien, Principal Secretary (IT) M. Sivsankar, and Technopark CEO Hrishikesh Nair, among others, addressed the meeting.
