Mega health camp held in Agency

Mega health camps were organised by the Sanjeevani Rural Development Society (SRDS) in association with Anil Neerukonda Hospital and the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) in Dumbriguda mandal in the district recently.

A total of 386 persons from 32 villages of three panchayats in the mandal, apart from some tribal villages of two blocks in neighbouring Odisha State, attended the first camp held at Demuduvalasa. The second health camp was held at Vasabanda village in which 410 persons attended. Medicines were given to the patients and over 120 major cases like those pertaining to gynaecology and kidney diseases were referred to the Anil Neerukonda Hospital at Tagarapuvalasa for treatment, according to SRDS secretary P. Devullu.

The camps were conducted by 11 doctors and three staff members of the hospital. ITDA Project Officer Ravi Pathanshetti oversaw the arrangements.

The patients requiring hospitalisation were brought to the hospital in two buses. P. Ammaji of SRDS coordinated the shifting of patients.
