CBI inquiry sought into ‘misuse of funds’ by Minister Anjaneya

Members of the district unit of the Yadava community and members of the Madiga Yuva Sene took out a procession in Chitradurga, Challakere and Hiriyur taluks of the district on Thursday demanding a CBI probe into the alleged misappropriation of funds by Minister for Social Welfare and district in-charge H. Anjaneya in supplying material to hostels and providing benefits of government schemes to eligible beneficiaries. They also demanded that the Minister be dropped from the Cabinet.

In Chitradurga, the members of the community took out a procession from the Sri Nilkanteshwar temple, passing through the main streets, to the Onake Obavva Circle. They raised slogans against Mr. Anjaneya.

The agitators alleged that the Minister is involved in swallowing money meant for their development under different government schemes. There are allegations that the Minister has swallowed money under schemes to provide bed sheets, pillows, study material, foodgrains supplied to students in all backward community hostels. The agitators demanded that a CBI probe should be conducted into all these issues and appropriate action taken against the Minister. They burnt an effigy of the Minister at the Onake Obavva Circle.

In Challakere and Hiriyur, members of the Madiga Yuva Sene took out a procession and staged a dharna.
