‘Mera Aspataal’ (My Hospital), a patient feedback system of the Central Government, has been introduced at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
An initiative by Ministry of Health, ‘Mera Aspataal’ will collect feedback from patients for the services they received at the hospital.
Health Management Information System (HMIS), Tamil Nadu, has directed CMCH administration to start collecting mobile numbers of patients availing treatment at the hospital. “We have been instructed to collect mobile number of patients which will be used for collection of feedback under ‘Mera Aspataal’. The mobile numbers will be included in the OP ticket,” said CMCH dean B. Asokan.
Efficiency
As per the direction from HMIS, ‘Mera Aspataal’ has been launched to scale up the functioning and efficiency of all medical college hospitals and district hospitals in the current financial year.
Patient satisfaction score obtained through ‘Mera Aspataal’ is one of the parameters of Niti Ayog ranking system which gets considerable weightage in the conditionality frame work for 2017-18.
According to officials in Health Department, feedback from patients will be collected through SMS, outbound dialling mobile application, and web portal within seven days of the hospital visit. Across the country, patient feedback for ‘Mera Aspataal’ is collected through seven languages including Hindi, English and Tamil.
By entering the mobile number in the ‘Mera Aspataal’ website, the patient can also check the earlier feedback given. The feedback will be used by by various agencies working under Health Department of Central and State governments to improve the healthcare service.
In CMCH, The duty of registering mobile number of patients will be done by HMIS staff working at OP registration counter. On an average, 1,500 to 2,000 new OP tickets are issued a day at CMCH. The total number of OP patients, both new and old, per day is around 6,000.
As on Thursday, ‘Mera Aspataal’ was implemented at 177 hospitals across the country. Of the 8.3 lakh total feedback from patients received, 6.4 lakh were satisfied with the service as per the website.
