The Ministry of Coal has given Gopal Singh, CMD, Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL), additional charge as CMD, Coal India Ltd, with immediate effect until a regular appointment is
made.
In a filing to the National Stock Exchange on Friday, CIL said, Singh has taken charge effective September 1, 2017.
This follows Sutirtha Bhattacharya relinquishing charge as chairman-cum-managing director on attaining superannuation effective August 31, 2017.
Additional revenue generation
Coal India expects to generate additional annual revenue to the tune of Rs 527 crore.
The additional revenue is expected to come in on the back of a revision in sizing and rapid loading silo charges as well as additional charges for supply of slack and steam coal.
"Coal India Ltd in its 346th board meeting held on August 31, 2017, approved the revision in sizing charges, rapid loading silo (RLS) charges, revision in additional charges for supply of slack and steam coal," CIL said in a regulatory filing on Friday.
