After another night of heavy rainfall, many residents across parts of the city woke up to flooded roads and inundated homes.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) control rooms received many distress calls from citizens. BBMP officials said they had received complaints of water logging from Anand Nagar, Bommanahalli, Koramangala, HSR Layout, Shantala Nagar and R.T. Nagar.
Koramangala 4th Block was badly affected with water entering several homes at night. Many residents spent a sleepless night as water rushed into homes, damaging furniture and bedding. “How many times is this situation going to repeat? Now even if there is a small amount of rain, our homes are getting flooded,” lamented Parvathi, a resident to Koramangala 4th Block.
Residents of Rehmat Nagar in R.T. Nagar also reported rainwater entering their homes.
Meanwhile, foam began to rise again on Bellandur Lake on Friday morning. “The foam was high and was flying out into nearby apartments,” said Seema Sharma, member of the Bellandur Lake Committee. She added that water level in the lake had also increased considerably.
