Man dies after being hit by SUV in which BS Yeddyurappa’s son was travelling, driver arrested

The Honnali police said they had arrested Ravikumar the driver of the car for causing the accident. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the driver, police said.

A 34-year-old pedestrian was killed in the Honnali region of Davangere in central Karnataka on Thursday night after being knocked down by a car carrying BJP MLA B Y Raghavendra, the son of the state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa.

The incident occurred around 9 pm when the MLA from Shikharipura was returning to Shikharipura from Bengaluru. The pedestrian, a resident of Madapura, was killed on the spot after being hit by the MLA’s SUV at the Madapura cross.

The Honnali police said they had arrested Ravikumar the driver of the car for causing the accident. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the driver, police said.
