The Ministry of Mines, has appointed Santosh Sharma, Director (Operations), Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) as Chairman and Managing Director, HCL effective September 1, 2017.

The appointment is for a period of five years from the date of his assumption of charge of the post or till the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest, HCL said in a regulatory filing on Friday.

Sharma took over after K D Diwan stepped down from the post on August 31, on attaining superannuation.
