KOCHI: The city police have busted a five-member gang wanted in connection with several theft and robbery cases across the city.
The police chanced upon Aboobacker Siddique of Kasargod and Muhammad Bilal of Edappally with a stolen bike on Wednesday night. During the interrogation, the duo confessed to committing several robberies that took place in various parts of Kochi over the past few weeks.
Acting on information received from them, the police later arrested three more persons, identified as Prasanth, Rinshad and Hassan. The five-member gang used to roam around the city in an autorickshaw and carry out robberies. They were produced in a local court and remanded in judicial custody.
