A 12-member Australian mining equipment technologies and solutions delegation is on an India tour, exploring opportunities to offer their services.

The delegation met with senior officials from NSL Consolidated, NMDC, Singareni Colleries and other leading mining companies here and discussed potential opportunities.

Tim Martin, Trade Commissioner, Australian Trade & Investment Commission, said in a statement: “Australia offers innovative mining equipment, technology and services (METS) that can help India meet ambitious new production targets and stricter safety, quality, environmental and water management regulations.”

Australian dual bulk commodity company NSL Mining Resources, with iron ore production in India and thermal coal exploration in Australia, has been mining low-grade iron ore in Andhra Pradesh for over five years and producing high-grade concentrate. It is now scaling up production.

NMDC, India’s largest iron ore miner, has an investment in Legacy Iron Ore, in Perth. Singareni Collieries has long standing technical collaborations in Australia.

Australian companies SMEC, NSL Consolidated, Worley Parsons and AAM have a presence in Hyderabad.

This is part of the Australia Business Week in India that features business events and activities across six cities — New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bhopal, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
