Slaughter of animals in a public place not appropriate: HC

The High today refused to grant any relief on a seeking permission to slaughter animals in the open for the Eid-al-Adha festivities.

The filed by Mohammad Imran of Kaushambi district in was dismissed as withdrawn after a division bench comprising Justices Tarun Agarwala and Ashok Kumar expressed the view that slaughtering animals "in any public place is not appropriate even if allowed in any religion or custom".


The petitioner had contended that he wanted to slaughter a buffalo by way of offering in the festival and that the same was not possible within the premises of his house because of the size of the animal.
