Indian middle order batsman Ambati Rayudu allegedly manhandled and slapped a senior citizen here on Thursday morning.
Rayudu, who was headed to the Rajiv Gandhi International in his SUV, got into an argument with the senior citizen, who had stepped out for a morning walk. The 31-year-old is learnt to have lost his cool when the senior citizen advised him not to drive rashly.
Onlookers told reporters that Rayudu got out of his car and held the old man by his collar and slapped him. The situation was brought to control after a couple of walkers intervened and pacified Rayudu.
The incident was captured by B Vijay, a passerby, in his mobile and the video was later released to the media. The senior citizen, who was not aware of Rayudu’s identity, chose not to file a complaint.
In December 2005, Rayudu had attacked Andhra Cricket Association secretary Shivlal Yadav’s son Arjun Yadav, during a Ranji Trophy match in Anantapur.
