Sengottaiyan inaugurates meet on education planning and administration

Students across government schools in the State would be provided with smart cards, said Minister for School Education, Sports and Youth Welfare K.A. Sengottaiyan.

He was inaugurating a two-day conference of district and block education officers on education planning and administration at Anna University. He added that 3,000 smart classrooms would be set up. As many as 6,029 schools would get computers and the initiatives would be implemented at a cost of ₹462 crore. Apart from setting up weekend coaching centres for preparing students for competitive exams, civil services aspirants would be given coaching at district government libraries soon, he said.
