'Play for Health' football tournament kicks off in Kashmir

In a bid to give boost to the activities and channelising the energy of youth in positive direction, the Health and Medical Education Department has organised a state level football tournament in the Valley.

The tournament was organised in association with the J&K Council in all districts on knock-out basis, involving the teams of all Degree Colleges, Medical Colleges, and Dental Colleges across the state.

The slogan of the tournament is "Khelo Sehat Ke Liye" - Play for Health. State Health Minister Bali Bhagat said the activities are mandatory for physical as well as mental health for all, and will devise a long term strategy to hold regular events in future for the benefit of the doctors, medical students and those of other educational institutions.

This will not only create greater interest of youth towards the activities, but also provide them a platform to exhibit their talent which can pave the way for their entry in the national level events. The football players who are participating in this tournament hailed this step taken by the
