Friends and admirers of the late script writer T.A. Razzaq are organising an event here on September 2 to mark his first death anniversary. K.P. Sudheera, chairperson, T.A. Razzaq Suhrid Vedi, said that M.P. Veerendrakumar, MP, would inaugurate it at K.P. Kesava Menon Hall here at 5 p.m.
She said that Razzaq had a large network of friends and well-wishers in Kozhikode outside the world of cinema. “As he intervened in social issues too, the warmth of his friendship still remains fresh in our memories. Our effort is to rekindle those memories,” Ms. Sudheera said.
John Paul, script writer, would be the main speaker. There would be lectures on the women in Razzaq’s films, his friendship with the media, and his relation with Kozhikode city. Dubbing artiste Bhagyalakshmi, Mullassery Baby Raju, Shajoon Karyal, P. Damodaran, and K. Shajahan would speak.
