It is that time of the year again, when you can win attractive prizes if you unleash your creativity.
The tenth edition of The Hindu-MetroPlus Pookkalam Contest, powered by Poabs Supreme Tea, will be held in Kozhikode on September 2 to mark the harvest festival of Onam when floral carpets bloom in households across Kerala.
The venue at Kozhikode is HiLite Mall (Third floor), Thondayadu Bypass.
The contest, first held in 2007, has been witnessing increased participation over the years and has become a top contest of its kind.
The teams adjudged first, second and third will receive cash prizes of ₹20,000, ₹12,500, and ₹7,500 respectively. Five teams will be given ₹1,500 as consolation prizes. All teams will be given ₹750 as reimbursement for the cost of flowers after the prize distribution. There will be special gifts for all participating teams.
Participants of the pookkalam contest, both women and men, may compete for the best traditional attire contest. The best traditionally dressed team and two individual participants will be given exciting prizes. There will be other exciting contests for the participants and visitors. Entry for visitors will be from 2.30 p.m.
