11 giant screens to be set up

Elaborate arrangements are being made for the grand conduct of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara scheduled to commence on September 23.

Briefing the media after presiding over a high-level meeting with the heads of various departments, TTD JEO K.S. Srinivasa Raju on Tuesday said giant LED screens would be set up at 11 identified points here for the benefit of the pilgrims (particularly those who could not make it to the galleries on the mada streets) to witness the two-time daily processions of the Lord on different vahanams.

Special parking lots had been identified at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and the sprawling Devalok vacant site on the Alipiri – Cherlopalli bypass road at Tirupati for the devotees expected to arrive in large numbers on the auspicious Garuda Seva day on September 27. Both the sites could comfortably accommodate about 2,500 two-wheelers. The APSRTC had expressed its willingness to operate special buses from the sites to the hill town, he said.

Foot over-bridge

Mr. Raju, who sounded optimistic that all the engineering works would be completed well ahead of the commencement of the annual festival, also said that the new foot over-bridge linking the Sapthagiri choultries and the Asthana Mandapam would be completed by September 20.

TTD’s CVSO Ake Ravikrishna, Addl FACAO Mr. Balaji and other officials were present.
