Nathan Lyon’s 10th wicket haul looked to have contained Bangladesh enough to set up a comfortable victory for the visiting Australia in Dhaka. The batsmen, namely Steve Smith and David Warner, had the chase off to a strong start too in quest to getting 265 runs. But as Warner fell, soon after his second Test ton in Asia, the visiting team collapsed under the spin and variable bounce of Shakib Al Hasan. He was ably supported by fellow spinners Mehidy Hasan and Taijul Islam who too troubled the Australian batting. The win, when it arrived with 20 runs left to get, resulted in big, big celebrations for Bangladesh and rightly so – this is their first win over Australia. And added to Bangladesh’s excellent report card recently which has seen first Test wins against England and Sri Lanka as well.
