Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said an energetic campaign against tobacco use must continue even though its use had decreased considerably following a court intervention as well as widespread campaign against it.

He said awareness about the ill-effects of the use of tobacco must be created, and praised former High Court judge K. Narayana Kurup for his contributions to the anti-tobacco campaign.
Mr. Vijayan was speaking at the dedication of a documentary on the activities of the former judge against the use of tobacco. The documentary, The Epidermic, was prepared by Justice K.N. Kurup Anti-Tobacco Foundation, said a press release here. The documentary was dedicated to the memory of former Supreme Court judge late V.R. Krishna Iyer.
Kerala High Court judge Antony Dominic received a copy of the documentary from the Chief Minister. Social activist M.K. Sanoo, former member of Rajya Sabha P. Rajeev and advocate general Sudhakara Prasad were among those present.
