Nobel Peace Laureate, Kailash Satyarthi is embarking on a historic Bharat Yatra to spearhead the fight against child trafficking and sexual abuse across the country.

The Yatra will start from Kanyakumari and will pass through 22 states and union territories over 35 days, stretching across western India. Guwahati will lead the yatra from the eastern part of the country, while Srinagar will flag off the northern stretch. The culmination of the Yatra will be in the national capital of Delhi, on the 16th of October.

To propagate the Bharat Yatra and mobilise mass support, the Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation launched a video which highlights the appeal of children across the country to stand up and fight for this cause and to enable them to secure a better future with ‘Kailash Satyarthi Declares war against child sexual abuse and trafficking.’

The video is conceptualised on the theme of ‘Make India Safe Again’ to bring fruition to Satyarthi’s long-term goal of ‘Surakshit Bachpan-Surakshit Bharat’.

The video highlights the legacy of how Kailash Satyarthi marched for the well-being of children several times in the past. He leads the Global March Against Child Labor in 1998 that prompted the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to pass international conventions against the worst form of child labour.  Also, he undertook the Shiksha yatra in 2001, after which the Right to Education was included as a fundamental right in the Constitution of India.

“These gruesome crimes against children reveal that the spectator of Moral Epidemic is haunting India and I will start marching again for my children”, said Satyarthi. The video calls to action, every citizen of the country to move from fear to fearlessness and to unite to secure the future of our children-our country.
