Lawyers staged a protest at the Civil Courts here on Monday against the proposed amendments to the Advocates Act of 1961 under the aegis of All India Lawyers’ Union (AILU) as part of a nationwide agitation on the issue.
AP Bar Council member and AILU State president S. Rajendra Prasad and Bezawada Bar Association president Somu Krishna Murthy and others demanded that the Ministry of Law appreciate the concerns of lawyers, who were not against regulation but do not want the legal profession to be reformed in such a manner that they find it difficult to continue practising.
