
Playing their first Test in over a decade, Day 1 of the first Test saw Bangladesh’s spinners claim two quick wickets after they were dismissed for 260 runs. Nathan Lyon, Ashton Agar and Pat Cummins took three wickets each to wrap Bangladesh’s innings despite the 155-run partnership between Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan. Mehedi Hasan and Shakib scalped a wicket each in the final moments of the session. Usman Khwaja was run out, as Australia concluded Day 1 at 18/3 at stumps.
