DMK Principal Secretary Duraimurugan led his party’s delegation to meet the T.N Governor

The DMK on Sunday submitted a memorandum to Tamil Nadu Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao urging him to direct Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to prove his majority in the floors of the Assembly.

“His government has become a minority after the AIADMK MLAs supporting Mr T.T.V. Dhinakaran announced withdrawal of support to the Chief Minister. If the Governor allows the government to continue it will be unconstitutional, undemocratic and against the ethics of politics,” said DMK Principal Secretary Duraimurugan, who led his party’s delegation to meet the Governor.

Mr. Duraimurugan said Mr. Palaniswami had the support of only 113 MLAs while those who were opposed to the government increased to 120. “As a student of the Constitution, the Governor is aware of the situation and it is his responsibility to do his best,” he said.

The DMK leader said he had pointed out to the Governor that he had directed Mr. Palaniswami to prove his majority in 15 days last time even though it was clear that he enjoyed the majority. “Now in the changed circumstances he should be allowed to prove his majority,” he said.

In Tiruvarur, DMK Working President M.K. Stalin said if the Governor failed to take action, his party would make a representation to the President of the country.
