Cardamom futures slide 1.91% on low demand

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Cardamom prices fell 1.91 per cent to Rs 1,124 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their exposure, driven by easing demand at spot market against adequate stocks.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October month drifted lower by Rs 21.90, or 1.91 per cent to Rs 1,124 per kg in business turnover of 15 lots.

The spice for delivery in September was trading lower by Rs 17, or 1.47 per cent to Rs 1,143 per kg in seven lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants due to weak demand at physical market pulled down cardamom prices at futures trade.
