BSP demands dismissal of Haryana govt post Panchkula violence

The (BSP) has demanded immediate dismissal of Manohar Lal Khattar's in in the wake of widespread violence that erupted in the state soon after self-proclaimed godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim was convicted of rape by a special (CBI) in Panchkula.

The president has held the Bharatiya Janata Party's "vote politics" and the Khattar government's despicable negligence responsible for yesterday's violence in the state.

Condemning the government, she said that the invited violence in the state and later bowed down in front of it in the same manner the did at the time of Ayodhya violence in 1992.

Also, it said that the army was just used as an exhibition in yesterday's Panchkula violence so that the miscreants could make it an object of ridicule.

The party president also strongly condemned MP Sakshi Maharaj's statement in contempt of judiciary and in support of the rape convicted Ram Rahim.

The violent clashes that erupted across Punjab and claimed 30 lives in Panchkula and six in Sirsa, while left nearly 269 injured.

In the wake of the tense situation in Punjab, and neighbouring areas a total of 340 trains have either been cancelled or shortly terminated.

The self-styled godman will be sentenced in the rape case on Monday.

Meanwhile following developments have taken place in the DSS chief rape case:

- 30 died in Panchkula, 6 in Sirsa, 269 injured.
