A website www.tsswagruha.cgg.gov.in for online booking of Rajiv Swagruha flats, constructed by Telangana Rajiv Swagruha Corporation Ltd at Bandlaguda and Pocharam in the city, by government employees was launched by Minister for Housing A. Indrakaran Reddy and Chief Secretary S.P. Singh here on Saturday.
A total of 3,719 flats would be up for sale with online booking by the government employees on first-come-first-serve basis. The cost would be ₹1,900 per square foot for finished flats and ₹1,700 per sft for semi-finished ones at Bandlaguda. Similarly, it would be ₹1,700 and ₹1,500, respectively for flats at Pocharam, Mr. Indrakaran Reddy said after launching the website.
The Minister stated that it would be an opportunity for the homeless employees to fulfil their dream as the flats were being sold at subsidised rates — at the cost of construction itself on the directions of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Special Chief Secretary Chitra Ramachandran, legislator V. Srinivas Goud, Director of Centre for Good Government Rajendra C. Nimje, president of TNGOs’ Association K. Ravinder Reddy and others were present on the occasion.
Stating that the two projects had all basic amenities the Minister promised that the government would also try to provide more facilities such as a gym, walking tracks and others. Booking of flats online on the website would become available to users soon, the minister noted.
Terming the sale of Rajiv Swagruha flats at subsidised rates, Chief Secretary S.P. Singh said it was an employee-friendly gesture by the government. Purchase of flats in such projects would be litigation-free forever.
Special Chief Secretary Chitra Ramachandran said the delay in sale of the flats constructed had resulted in financial burden on the Housing Department and after bifurcation of the State it was to the tune of Rs.1,069 crore along with interests on Telangana. The government had already repaid Rs.670 crore loan and remaining Rs.400 crore would repaid soon.
