Radiology intern Dr. Sashwat Pande was found in his retiring room, his throat slit

A 26-year-old doctor was found dead in a room, his throat slit, in North Delhi's St. Stephen's Hospital on Friday. The police have registered a case and have sent his body for post mortem.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Jatin Narwal said the police suspect that Dr. Sashwat Pande was killed by a fellow doctor, who was also Mr. Pande’s friend.

"The dead body of Radiology intern Dr. Sashwat Pande was found in his retiring room adjacent to the duty room. As per the preliminary investigation, the suspect in inquiry till now is another fellow doctor and friend of the deceased," Mr. Narwal said, adding that the police are trying to ascertain the reason.

As soon as the PCR call was made, a Forensic Science Laboratory team rushed to the spot. Meanwhile, another team was sent to the suspect's house but he wasn't at home, the police said.
