Young artists including several schoolchildren presented a scintillating performance highlighting the vibrant folk art forms of Telangana at the district level Janapadha Jatara, a folk arts festival, held in Palvancha town on Wednesday.
The cultural event was organised by the Telangana Department of Culture to promote the folk art forms of the State and inculcate the habit of appreciating different art forms from a young age.
Joint Collector M. Ramkishan inaugurated the folk arts fete at Sitarama Kalyana Mandapam in the town. He along with other officials and parents of the participating school students enjoyed the performances.
District Public Relations Officer S. Srinivas and others were present.
B. Gnapika and her sister Vennela of a town-based private school captivated the audience with their splendid dance performance to the tunes of Bathukamma songs.
The talented artists presented the glory of the floral festival of Telangana in its full grandeur.
The duo hogged the limelight at the fete with their remarkable show of talent.
Earlier, scores of young artistes from all over the district took out a rally in the town highlighting various folk art forms of Telangana.
