Gang hacks history-sheeter to death

An armed gang of four miscreants hacked a 32-year-old history-sheeter to death in Jnanabharati police station limits on Thursday evening. The deceased, Arjuna Thatte, is a history-sheeter in the Chandra Layout police station, with multiple criminal cases against him, police said.

On Thursday, at around 6 pm, the gang hacked Arjuna to death while he was sitting beside a cemetery near SAI campus in Nayandahalli. Eye-witnesses told the police that they had seen around three to four persons assaulting Arjuna with lethal weapons. He sustained injuries on his head and neck and died on the spot, police said.

The Jnanabharathi police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Victoria Hospital. The police are trying to ascertain the identity of the assailants. They suspect old rivalry to be the motive behind the murder.
