They lock office of Gudiyatham MLA opposing her support to ousted leader

Several cadre of AIADMK burnt the effigies of T.T.V. Dhinakaran, ousted AIADMK deputy general secretary, across the district on Wednesday.

Cadre also locked up the office of Member of Legislative Assembly of Gudiyatham Jayanthi Padmanabhan opposing her support for Mr. Dhinakaran.

The cadre protested at nearly 10 places including at Vellore, Tirupattur, Gudiyatham, Ambur and Jolarpet. In Vellore, they burnt Mr. Dhinakaran’s effigy near Anna Salai.

At Tirupattur, the protest was led by former MLA and Kandhili union secretary K. G. Ramesh.

They wanted Mr. Dhinakaran to be ousted from the party besides opposing his decision to remove Commercial Taxes Minister and Jolarpet MLA K.C. Veeramani, from the post of the party’s district secretary of Vellore (west).

Mr. Ramesh said the Minister had been holding the post of district secretary for nearly 12 years, and had worked a lot for the party. “We oppose his removal from the party post. People, who were kept away from the party by Amma, are now holding key posts. They should be removed from the party,” he said.

They opposed replacing Mr. Veeramani with Ambur MLA R. Balasubramani. At Gudiyatham, supporters locked the office of MLA Jayanthi Padmanabhan as she was extending her support to Mr. Dhinakaran and burnt her effigy.
