Sugar market witnessed higher volume almost double at mill level at steady prices on Wednesday as stockiest gave fresh orders to meet higher physical demand during 11 days long Ganeshotsav starting from Friday. At Vashi prices remained unchanged despite higher arrivals and local dispatches. Under current of the market was positive said Vashi based wholesaler.

At Vashi arrivals were 61-62 truck loads and local dispatches were at par at 60-61 truck loads. On Tuesday evening about 18 mills offered tenders and sold about 70,000 bags at steady prices at ₹3,590-3,650 (₹3,590-3,650) for S-grade and ₹3,640-3,740 (₹3,640-3,740) for M-grade.

On Bombay Sugar Merchants Association's spot rates were: (in ₹)S-grade 3,730- 3,806 ( 3,730-3,806) and M-grade 3,810-3,992 (3,810-3,992).

Naka delivery rates were: (in ₹ )S-grade 3,700-3,760 (₹3,700-3,760) and M-grade 3,750-3,860 (₹3,750-3,860).
