Bengaluru: Heavy rains forecast for next 24 hours

India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in the city. They have also issued a warning for Thursday indicating that the city could experience heavy down pour (around 7cm) like it did on August 14 and 15.

According to IMD officials, the rainfall is because of an upper air cyclonic circulation over coastal Andhra Pradesh from 3.6 to 5.8 km height. There is also a wind shear zone at 7.6 degrees along 13 degrees north latitude and 7.6 km above mean sea level.
